ALL IRELAND FINAL DAY

We left early on sunday morning, some of us suffering from lack of sleep but in good spirits all the same. Thank god for the early morning entertainment on the bus in the form of a video that kept us from getting bored. The preparations began at around 12 noon to transform us into a true rebel army with red & white faces and by the time we reached Dublin, everyone was ready to out scream the Tipp & Down opposition. We marched in style into Croke Park armed with horns, flags & much needed food to get us through the day, sponsored kindly by Dave Crowley of Musgraves. The girls were anything but camera shy shouting at various photographers! Their hard work paid off when Toni Scully & Amy Maye had their photo taken by a professional which was on the the back page of the Irish Examiner the following day!

The Cork junior team played a great match & came out on top winning 4 - 05 to 2 - 04 much to the delight of the Cork supporters. The centenary celebrations were a success at half time, marking the anniversary in style. The Carrigaline crew without doubt made the most noise out screaming the Tipperary supporters. The Senior match was exciting from the start as Cork got the first score. Much of the play however was dominated by Tipp. Cork battled hard with Gemma O'Connor playing a blinder in midfield, supplying the forwards with great balls. Unfortunately Tipp's ability to score goals and Corks inability to keep possesion led to their defeat by a much stronger, fitter & more determined team. However the Senior defeat failed to dampen our spirits as we made our way home on the bus singing, shouting & screaming much to the distress of those up the front who were wrecked tired from their fantastic day out in Croke Park!
