CENTENARY YEAR CAMOGIE STAMPS GO ON SALE


Two stamps commemorating the centenary of Cumann Camógaíochta na
nGael go on sale this week at major post offices throughout the country.
The 48c stamps show players in the original and modern playing kit and from Antrim, Cork, Dublin, and Kilkenny - counties which have been significant in the growth and development of this most skilful of women’s field games.
Designed by Cork artist Finbarr O’Connor, stamps bears the Camogie Association centenary logo while the other bears an image of the O’Duffy Cup which is awarded to the All-Ireland senior champions.

A special First Day cover to mark the publication of the stamps bears the centenary logo of the Camogie Association which has organised a calendar of special events to celebrate the centenary.
