Cork camogie IS BOUND NOT TO TUMBLE WITH COLOUR CATCHER

Punch Industries has announced that Colour Catcher, the product that prevents colour runs in the wash, has continued its sponsorship of the Cork Camogie Senior Team for the 2004 All Ireland Championships. The Cork team will be sporting the “Colour Catcher” logo when playing Galway at the semi-final at Nolan Park, Kilkenny on Saturday, 21st August.

Speaking at the announcement Colin Walsh, Head of Marketing for Punch Industries said “We are delighted to continue our support in 2004 for the Cork Camogie Team. The strength of the Cork side is evident year-on-year helping strengthen this growing female sport in Ireland. Cork Camogie and Cork based Punch Industries both operate on two different playing fields, however, they are both equal Cork success stories! The Colour Catcher sponsorship of the Cork Camogie team is being supported by a public relations and promotional campaign”.

In this the Centenary Year of Camogie, Cork is totally focused on reaching Croke Park on September 19th. Under the guidance of Former All Ireland winning Cork hurling star John Considine the team has performed well in the Foras Na Gaeilge All Ireland Championship defeating Limerick and Wexford to reach this weekend’s semi final where Galway will provide stiff opposition. The side met at the same stage last season with Cork coming out on top, but the Leesiders will be putting that result aside as they face what will be their toughest test to date.

County Board PRO, Mary Newman-McCarthy, in looking forward to the semi-final said “The Cork Camogie Team are delighted to wear the Colour Catcher jerseys for 2004 and we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Punch Industries for their ongoing support. Hopefully in this the centenary year of camogie we will repay their faith in us with an All Ireland title”.
