JUNIOR B BLITZ, Ballyanley, Co. Cork (20 July 04)
Inniscarra opened their
camogie pitch at magnificent Ballyanley on Tuesday July
20th and held a 10 team blitz all run off on the one evening,
but the excellent Rob Lotty. Carrig got to the final on
points difference and lost to the up and coming Buttevant
in the final by a few points. Sandra Moran was the star
of the show for Carrig and the team were awarded runners-up
medals. We’d like to thank Inniscarra for holding
a great blitz & for the tea and sandwiches which were
provided in between the games!!

Match V Ballinascarthy
This match was a tight encounter with hurleys flying in
all directions! There was a great display of skills from
both teams. Super keeper Ann Kiely was forced to throw herself
in front of the ball to save Carrig from defeat which led
to Sandra Morgan scoring a screamer to give Carrig the victory!!
And one step closer to qualifying.
Final Score: Carrigaline 1 – 1, Ballinascarthy
0 - 1
2nd
Match V Castlemagner
An early opener by Katie Doherty saw Carrig lead almost straight
away. Great hooking and blocking from Emily Power delivered
lots of opportunities into the forwards where Katie converted
again. A fast taken rocket of a free saw the Carrigaline “wall”
ducking out of the way, which left Carrigaline a point behind
in the last few minutes. Every player was giving all but unfortunately
it just wasn’t good enough.
Final Score: Carrigaline 0 – 2, Castlemagner
1 – 0.
Final
V Buttevant
After a fabulous display in the previous 2 matches, lack of
fitness seemed to be our problem in this match. A good block
by Ann Kiely, turned into a 45 for Buttevant which they sent
flying over the bar. They girls gave it their all for the
entire match, but it was not to be.
Final Score: Carrigaline 0 – 1, Buttevant
2 – 3
